Técnica de perforación rotativa de bajo impacto que utiliza aire comprimido y una corona de corte o pequeño martillo para atravesar materiales sueltos o meteorizados, devolviendo los detritos a superficie por el interior de las varillas. Se utiliza ampliamente en exploración temprana para muestrear el regolito y detectar halos geoquímicos sobre yacimientos ocultos a coste relativamente bajo.
