Paloma Ortiz-Lopez

Human Resources Consultant

Paloma Ortiz-Lopez is an executive consultant and leadership analyst with over a decade of experience dedicated to the global mining industry. She specialises in evaluating C-suite and board teams for investors, mining companies, and technical operators—connecting leadership capability with operational outcomes.

With a background in Sports Science from the Universidad de Valencia and studies in HR Management (CIPD Level 7), Paloma brings a unique perspective that blends performance psychology, organisational insight, and a deep understanding of mining operations.

She has held executive roles in mining-focused consultancies, including as Regional Manager EMEA at Globe 24-7, leading operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Her on-site work at projects like Adriatic Metals gives her first-hand knowledge of the challenges and dynamics shaping leadership effectiveness in the field.

Through her firm, Avantgarde International, she advises junior explorers and listed producers across LATAM, Africa, Australia, and the Middle East—delivering recruitment solutions and executive evaluations that consider track record, insider alignment, technical competence, and in-country experience.

Paloma also hosts Diary of a Female Leader, a podcast exploring leadership, resilience, and inclusion in male-dominated industries—offering an authentic and fresh voice on what effective leadership looks like today.

Though younger than many of her peers, Paloma brings a forward-looking lens to executive assessment—especially relevant in a mining landscape shaped by ESG demands, stakeholder scrutiny, and the evolving definition of leadership success.
